I spent my early years as a secondary school teacher. After graduating from Roehampton, having studied Calligraphy and Bookbinding, I combined my work in adult college teaching with my commissioned projects as a lettering artist and started to exhibit my own work.

Combining lettering with illustration for the written word came from poetry, prose and experiments with various pens and coloured pigments in sketchbooks.

Now I concentrate on creating expressive pieces for exhibitions, including for South London Lettering Association (SLLA), illustrating text which is often my own.

Inspiration for some of my artwork comes from nature and my wildlife garden, which is also the setting for two books I have written and illustrated about the true-life story of a robin.
